“United is the Way” Grant Applications 

Emergency Funding to Support Rhode Island Nonprofits Responding to Critical Community Needs 

As federal uncertainty grows and puts vital services at risk, United Way of Rhode Island is taking swift, decisive action to protect our communities and the nonprofits that serve them. Beginning Friday, March 28, United Way will accept applications for “United Is The Way”  Grants, providing emergency funding to Rhode Island-based nonprofits delivering critical services to our most vulnerable neighbors.

About the Grants 

This special grant cycle is designed to support organizations:

  • Experiencing reductions, delays, or termination of government funding
  • Facing increased demand for services

Funding is for general operating support, and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through our online grants portal.

More Support for Nonprofits

United Way’s Alliance for Nonprofit Impact is offering technical assistance to help organizations adapt and sustain operations. Support includes:

  1. Scenario and strategic planning
  2. Revenue generation and grant writing
  3. Strategic partnerships and staffing models

Additionally, the Lawyers’ Committee for Rhode Island is offering free legal assistance to help nonprofits navigate evolving regulatory and funding landscapes. Services include:

  1. Training and workshops
  2. Open office hours with attorneys
  3. One-on-one consultations
