Rocking out for childhood literacy.
On Thursday, April 19, United Way of Rhode Island hosted 70 volunteers for our annual Family Volunteer Day: Literacy Rocks! — 33 of them were children between the ages of 2 and 15. The volunteers enjoyed family time while creating 46 literacy kits that will help encourage local children to read at home.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event successful; we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, June 2, for our annual Day of Action. Please visit us online for more information on United Way’s Day of Action, or any of our upcoming Family Volunteer Days.
